Computer Games
The following computer games have been created using Microsoft Visual Basic.NET, version 2.0. You should be able to run them on a Windows XP box or higher. Linux via Mono also will work. Apple has not had the best of luck so far. They are all based on games that are print and play board games or in the public domain. They have been built across most of 2008 and all are solitaire. I need to get out more.
- Abande - An abstract board game of stacking. All pieces must be connected to another band until no more pieces can be placed.
- Choice - A solitaire game usnig five dice. Try to get the highest score by saving two pairs of dice - and only accumulating only so many leftovers.
- Jacynth - A solitaire version of the Decktet deck of the same name. Control portions of the ancient city of Jacynth by placing markers in a tableaux. Deceptively difficult.
- Pocket Civ - A solitaire print and play game with extensive rules. You are building a kingdom up from nothing and will face many trials as you acquire tribes, gold and technologies. Will you create an empire to last the ages?
- Quincunx - Another game using the Decktet deck. A cross between solitaire pocker and badgers.
All of these games are available for free and are open source. Follow the links to see if any of them interest you.
