Making game boards is tough.
I went ahead and bought some cold laminate pouches to try over my matte board. I now have a nearly exact replica of Thinking Man's Golf. I know now why 3M decided to go into the game business.... they had all the materials right there!
So I tried single-sided cold laminate. This makes something that is less likely to be found in a diner - which is good. The bad thing is I'm having a bear of a time trimming the laminate over the matte. I may elect to simplytry centering it best I can and then folding over the sides of the matte board. Or, alternatively, taking a spare piece of matte board, placing it against the matte-board/cardstock sandwich and wrapping the laminate around that as well. Once I do that, hopefully it's a matter of just neatly trimming the laminate from the other board and folding it over neatly back onto the original game board. Painful, but more pretty than simply pouching it.
Final details are being worked out on Bindle Rails. Preorders for the release are set for about a week from now. Shipments will probably go in April, hopefully sooner.
