Second Playtest on No Name...

Second playtest on the no name train card game went pretty well.  Again, I didn't make it all the way to the end due to finding what I needed to find.  That, and I fell asleep.  :-)

Latest findings:

  • Might be worth making the cards lay east-to-west.  This could be done pretty easily.  I'll have to experiment with that.
  • The 7 card hand works well.
  • Considering removing obsolescence.  Not sure yet about this one.  (See below)
  • Dividends semi-randomly split into quarters on the deck worked well.
  • Considering making trains easier to purchase but with different amounts - i.e. the first train in a class is cheap and the last one in a class is actually cheaper than the first in the class before it.  This would promote a train rush.
  • Juggled some other card effects around.
  • Removed the Receive from Bank because it is impossible to really draw the cards meaningfully from the deck to do so.  I may be swayed to change this.
  • Considering reducing the number of regions by merging MI into ERI.  SOU already merged into CAP.
  • Considering coloring cards later on based on region.
All in all, game played smoother.  Next game test will probably be Sunday, another 2 player game after hours.  It's coming along.
